Brookshire Builders uses computer technology to enhance the remodeling experience

Bob and Cheryl Snell of Brookshire Builders are Contractors of the Month, recognized by the Fountain Hills Association of Licensed Contractors.

Bob Snell and Cheryl Snell of Brookshire Builders specialize in additions and remodels. They also build new homes, commercial buildings and commercial tenant improvements. Brookshire Builders was named Contractor of the Month by the Fountain Hills Association of Licensed Contractors.

Bob uses an auto-cad system to design and create working drawings. “The computer helps clients visualize the final product,” he says. “I’m currently working on a kitchen remodel and the clients are having difficulty deciding what they want. Using computer-generated drawings I can show them several different layouts and cabinet options to help their decision making process.”

Bob built an extensive addition for former Mayor Wally Nichols that removed half the existing home and added a new front entry, kitchen, great room, master suite and bathroom. Bob worked closely with the architect that designed the original house plan.

Bob recently finished a new home on Middlecoff. “The subs that work with me know I want the job completed as close to perfection as possible,” Bob said, “The homeowner told me that he had no worries about the project because he totally trusted me to handle all aspects of the construction of their home.”

According to Bob, “I’m on the job virtually 24/7. If I’m not on-site, I’m thinking about it. I do some of the work myself, while managing all the subcontractors. I manage my time carefully so I never take on more work than I can effectively oversee. I’ve heard it said, ‘Never do business with relatives or friends.’ I disagree, because our customers become our friends and repeat customers.”

Bob has been in the business 36 years, starting at age 16. Prior to relocating to Fountain Hills in 1996, Bob had his own construction business in his native Michigan. He managed another Fountain Hills builder’s projects for five years before starting Brookshire Builders.

The Fountain Hills Association of Licensed Contractors is a not-for-profit trade association promoting better contracting practices.

Association officers are: Al Donaldson of Double D Construction, president; Roger Rambo of Rambo & Son Landscaping, vice president; Marc Williams of Bobcat Wizards, immediate past president; Alice Blackerby of Fountain Hills Design Center, secretary-treasurer.
